We need effective climate solutions now

The science is clear, and the costs of inaction are growing. Scientists have declared a global climate emergency.

We have made some great progress with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which included nearly $370 billion to spur the transition to clean energy and emissions reductions.

But our work isn't done. We need Congress to continue to take action, preferably with bipartisan legislation that will ensure we reach our nearterm goal of 50 percent reduction in carbon emissions from 2005 levels by 2030.

CCL works to pass solution-focused climate legislation in four major policy areas. Click on the images below to learn more:

Delaware has already begun to suffer the effects of climate change, including more severe storms, droughts, heat, and increased coastal flooding. As the state with the lowest average elevation, we are highly susceptible to sea level rise.

A recent survey conducted by DNREC's Division of Climate, Coastal & Energy and the University of Delaware found that 70% of Delawareans agree that we should take immediate action to reduce the impacts of climate change.

There is good news, however:

We can receive dividends for solving climate disruption.

Take a look at two of our recent op-eds in the Wilmington News Journal to see how carbon cash back is the most cost-effective tool we have to fight climate change (and see more on our Media page):

You can be a part of creating the political will to make it happen by asking your representatives at all levels to support effective climate action!

Citizens' Climate Lobby is an organization that exists to create the political will for climate change solutions by enabling individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power.

We're a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.

Our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions.
